Cortober is located to the south-west of Carrick-on-Shannon in County Roscommon and is bound to the east by the River Shannon. The Shannon acts as a physical and administrative boundary between Cortober in Co. Roscommon and Carrick-on-Shannon in Co. Leitrim.
